Comensura worked with a UK local authority that faced considerable challenges relating to compliance across the supply chain and the way it procured services.

Vital internal governance and compliance processes were not being used by internal stakeholders, where robust tender and bid processes are essential. There was no fully audited trail of evidence supporting all projects.

The Solution

A complete set of authorisation and approval controls.

Comensura helped design and deploy a complete set of authorisation and approval controls based on the following activities:

  • A new process for project initiation and commissioning of external service providers.
  • A new approval and authorisation process for project extensions, change of scope, or overall cost of delivery.
  • A robust procurement process for appointment of service providers and their ability to execute projects based on a cost and qualitative evaluation criteria.
Results

A fully structured procurement process delivering real cost savings.

The ability to deploy this new, structured procurement process across all service providers delivered an annual cost saving of £977,234.
